We are currently recruiting for a graduate or part-qualified accountant.
We are looking for a graduate or part-qualified accountant to be part of a lively and friendly team of 27 in Stony Stratford. Excellent on-the-job training in a rapidly expanding practice, combined with full study support, will ensure great career development and potential where applicable. Responsibilities, which utilise various accounting systems including IRIS, Xero,Sage and Quickbooks, are:-
- Working as part of the accounting team in all aspects of their work, to include preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Tax returns for companies and individuals
- Involvement in client meetings to present accounts and tax returns
- General accountancy and tax advice to clients
- Preparation of client letters & mailshots
- Updating & maintaining accurate client records
- Ad-hoc administrative support including anti money laundering procedures
The ideal candidate will either be ACCA/ACA part-qualified (or qualified by experience), or a graduate who is aspiring to become an accountant. Experience in accounting for small to medium sized businesses is preferable but not essential. They should be conscientious and self-motivated, with strong customer service and communication skills, and ability to demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Knowledge of IRIS would be advantageous. They should have a genuine interest in business.
The successful applicant will join a practice with an established local client base and strong links with the community. There is considerable IT investment and utilisation of cloud-based and leading edge accounting systems. The practice has a track record for excellence and superb levels of client and staff retention. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive. The appointed applicant will help to develop a portfolio of small to medium sized businesses. Team participation is paramount and contribution to personal and technical development in the practice will be expected.
Applicants will be interviewed by telephone initially and if successful interviewed in person as soon as can be arranged. We are looking to recruit with immediate effect. The successful applicants will typically be required to work 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday but full-time hours are flexible.
